Amethus
Amethus is a Minecraft datapack that introduces a new cave system structure composed primarily of copper and amethyst. This project was initiated during the development period of the 1.17 update, inspired by the numerous elements added in this release. Leveraging the jigsaw structure feature, which became available to datapack creators a few months earlier, I quickly developed this datapack. However, due to rapid changes in data structure and datapack format, Amethus was abandoned before the full release of 1.17. Despite this, I have fond memories of creating the intricate structures and watching them come to life in the Minecraft world. I even developed a separate utility datapack to streamline the creation process. Later, Amethus was ported to version 1.20.6, which is the version provided in the download.
Structures
Amethus adds a single, expansive underground cave/tunnel system named Amethus. This system includes a central chamber, smaller chambers, and interconnected horizontal and vertical tunnels. Each chamber is encased in calcite and tuff, reminiscent of geodes from the 1.17 update. Within these caves, players will find copper, amethyst, and other elements introduced in the 1.17 update.
