Happy Easter Update
Happy Easter! It’s been quite some time since the last major update, but Zimo Web has undergone quite a lot of changes. This has culminated in another massive update, introducing quality-of-life functionalities and, as usual, new themes.
What’s New
Image Viewer Changes
Several improvements have been made to the image viewer widget. Swiping to navigate now feels more natural and intuitive, for both horizontal scrolling and touchscreen use. The image viewer now supports hotkeys: G
to enable grid view, P
to open pop-up view, S
to toggle subtitles/captions, left and right arrows to flip through pages, and number keys 1-9 for quick navigation. These enhancements greatly improve both usability and accessibility.
New Themes
Zimo Web has reimagined the aesthetic of themes on the site. It is now equipped with 20 different themes for various tastes and design. The gold theme is the first to feature a 3D model as its background. Additionally, three new themes have been introduced that adopt a flat aesthetic, contrasting with the usual layered, spatial design. These include autumnal, cherry, and marina.
Design Page
Zimo Web has always stood out for its unique design and aesthetic philosophy. In line with this, a dedicated page has been established to explore these artistic directions. It also serves as a testing ground for different kinds of themes.
Technical
Several improvements have been made to the codebase, including reducing duplication and enhancing logic. The way the navigation bar’s transparency is handled has been updated to address a rendering issue on WebKit browsers. Additionally, themes have been expanded to offer more customization options across the site.
