Bountiful Update

Happy New Year! Since the All-New Zimo Web Update, the site has undergone a steady stream of improvements. Though small individually, these tweaks add up to a major makeover compared to just a month ago. As of the writing of this article, these features are already pushed to the site and become a part of the Zimo Web experience. I thus name it the Bountiful Update.

What’s New

New Themes!

A total of sixteen themes are now available. Click a button and watch the world transform.

The previous update has enabled me to add themes fairly easily. Some themes highlight specific colors, others provide accessibility, and a few are just jokes. In fact, many themes are progressively added over the course of a month.

Zimo's Profile. What follows next is the name of the author. The h2 element after the author's name is the title.

Remember that the Spooky Halloween Update added a jumpscare effect across the site. This effect has now been brought to the newly added Halloween Theme with background richness set to ‘rich.’ The Halloween theme was actually meant for last October, but custom themes weren’t a thing yet on Zimo Web. Stay tuned for the next Halloween in just ten months.

The Plain Dark theme finally got a makeover. The previous insanely high contrast ratio really hurt my eye. Now, its new, softer shade is much easier on the eyes in dark mode. As with this adjustment, Zimo Web now automatically detects your device’s dark mode preference and applies Plain Dark accordingly, if you haven’t chosen another theme.

Table of contents is now available in blog and management articles with multiple sections; this handy feature keeps you organized. In fact, you’re seeing it right in this article. Table of contents has been a joy to code. This feature can be disabled in settings.

Christmas Tree

Visit the Christmas tree here. 100% original idea. Had more fun coding this interface than other parts of Zimo Web. Not a part of this update, but definitely an honorable mention.
